How to clean your countertop
Is your kitchen a bit messy after last night’s dinner, or did you happen to leave a coffee spill on your Bricmate countertop this morning? This simple guide gives you the information you need to clean and maintain your countertop in the best possible way.

Choose the right cleaner for the right stain
Most stains can be easily removed with a damp cloth. But sometimes a little extra help is needed, especially when it comes to limescale, grease, or other stubborn marks. In those cases, it’s important to choose the right type of cleaner for the most effective removal.
The surface can withstand all types of cleaning agents, from acidic to alkaline, but it’s best to avoid them whenever possible – for the sake of the environment. A great eco-friendly tip is a homemade vinegar spray!
Below you’ll find recommended product types for different kinds of stains. Always follow the dosage on the packaging and test on a small area first.
• Limescale, cement, rust, and soap residue: Use an acidic cleaner, such as vinegar. Apply with a cloth.
• Grease stains, ice cream, soda/juice, beer: Treat with an alkaline cleaner, such as regular dish soap. Apply with a damp cloth.
• Wax, ink, rubber, marker/paint pen: Use a solvent. Apply with a cloth. For marker/paint pen, an oxidizing cleaner can also work.
• Coffee, fruit & berries, and blood: Both oxidizing and alkaline cleaners work well. Apply with a damp cloth.
Extra tip
A white melamine sponge (magic eraser) can be very effective on stubborn stains that are otherwise difficult to remove.
